The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports oversees the NSS, a public service initiative. Every year on September 24, the day is celebrated throughout India. In 1969, the 100th year of Mahatma Gandhi's birth, the NSS was launched in 37 universities with 40,000 participants in which University of Madras is one among that. In our college we organize the National Service Scheme to develop personalities of our students by engaging them in community improvement during their free time. Our NSS enrolment had a voluntary strength of 100 during 2022-2023 which was spread over in 14 Department's in the College. There are two different types of programs, the Regular Program, which is run throughout the year, and the Special Camping Program, which is run at the adopted village for seven days. Both of these programs are planned and carried out in accordance with policies established by the Central and State Governments with the goal of fostering the development of the student's personality as well as the development of the community at large.
