About the Department

Established in 2018, the Department of Mathematics offers a three-year B.Sc. programme that builds strong foundations in pure and applied mathematics. The syllabus is designed to develop logical, analytical, and interpretive skills for diverse careers and competitive examinations.

Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates who have passed the Higher Secondary Examination (12th) in State Board or equivalent with Mathematics as a compulsory subject.
• Admission is based on merit and university regulations.

Purpose and Direction

• To prepare students for careers in teaching, research, data science, and technical fields, as well as for competitive examinations.
• Focus on seminars, workshops, club activities, and interdisciplinary applications of mathematics.

Course Takeaways

Students gain deep conceptual understanding, problem-solving abilities, and quantitative reasoning skills applicable to exams like UPSC, SSC, and banking, and roles in organizations such as ISRO, BARC, and DRDO. They also develop teamwork and communication skills through departmental clubs and events.

Notable Accomplishments

The Department conducts Mathematics Club activities, guest lectures on the importance of mathematics in competitive exams, and events such as math quizzes, puzzles, games, and creative rangoli. High student participation and engagement demonstrate a vibrant mathematical culture.
